For us at Tier 1 Event Management, Inc., getting team members involved in our philanthropic outreach is a high priority. We believe it is important as a team to come together and give back to the community. One of the obstacles to doing so that we have found is that many millennials tend to feel indifferent. Fortunately, there is an easy solution to this problem.

Many company leaders struggle with getting younger team members involved in corporate social responsibility activities. Despite this issue, millennials are actually very interested in giving back. The problem arises because it is often not made clear to them that company philanthropy is a priority.

We discovered this at Tier 1 Event Management, Inc. when we were first starting our community programs. Our management team wanted to give back but did not give enough support to our younger team members seeking to get involved. The easy fix was simply talking more about our service efforts.

We also made it easier to give back. For example, we started rotating the causes we support more often. This means that every quarter we are working on something that appeals to a different group of associates. This also made getting started feel like less of a commitment.

Thanks to these efforts, we have higher-than-ever turnout for our volunteering events. Nearly every Tier 1 Event Management, Inc. team member takes part in each function. Give these ideas a try at your office.
