We at Tier 1 Event Management, Inc. have worked with a number of business leaders throughout our careers. This experience has allowed us to determine what does and does not work in terms of success. We’ve discovered that success largely results from the right behaviors, and trouble arises from these counterproductive ones:
• Quick-Fix Thinking: According to Steve Jobs, “Half of what separates the successful entrepreneurs from the non-successful ones is pure perseverance.” The results you want won’t come quickly, so leverage your passion and stick to your strategy.
• Panic: Our team members at Tier 1 Event Management, Inc. assure you that business is full of surprises and high-pressure circumstances. You must develop the ability to manage emotional and kneejerk reactions and stay calm when faced with crisis.
• Naivety: It’s a bit difficult not to be naïve when you’re just beginning your career, but you must learn to practice skepticism. Question the things you hear and read about, and carefully consider the sources.
• Oversensitivity: You will be met with plenty of naysayers and criticism throughout your journey. It’s inevitable. To get by, we suggest that you thicken your skin as much as possible. Some humility and a healthy sense of humor won’t hurt either.
At Tier 1 Event Management, Inc., we want you to succeed in the world of business. If you practice any of these behaviors, start eliminating them today.
